Shopping becomes a lot more fun with DJs, booze and a BBQ
Can't decide whether you want to shop or party? Why not do both, at the new Retro Market pop-up. An exciting addition to Melbourne's growing vintage market scene, Retro Market's selling point is that its vintage goods won't be found in just any local op shop. The clothes on offer are sourced from England, the US, Spain, Germany and Italy.
Nearly everything at Retro Market is a bargain $10.
Despite the vintage goods having some serious mileage, they're quite affordable. Most items are ten dollars apiece, with the exception of jackets at twenty dollars and accessories for a fiver. Both men's and women's clothing will be on offer.
Retro Market runs for two days only, over the weekend of 22 to 23 September. Don't stress if you can't make it on the Saturday though, as racks will be constantly restocked all weekend with more unique finds.
Sangria is cheap all weekend at $5 a glass or $20 for a jug. A barbecue from mobile food stand Babes on Grill will be selling burgers, sandwiches and more.
There is no entry fee for Retro Market, which is being held at The Mercat Cross hotel.
Can't make it to the September edition of Retro Market? Do not despair- it is only the first in what is hoped to be a series of pop-up markets. Keep up to date about where they'll be popping up next on their Facebook page or Twitter account.
