Living out in the suburbs, my husband and I seldom go out for drinks in the evenings. One of us usually has to drive to avoid the hideously expensive cab fares and our favourite places in town are usually packed on a Friday or Saturday night. Sometimes we just want to have a quiet drink before going home to relax. in Kenmore allows us to do exactly that. It is a funky laneway bar in a retro style (as the name suggests). I especially love their groovy armchairs and cushions. On top of this, they've also got booths so if you feel like snuggling up to your loved ones on a cold winter evening, this is the place to be. It also has a homey feel; you could almost sit on the couch cross-legged and not feel out of place.

A few weeks ago on our way home, we decided to drop in to . We'd not been there for a while and they seemed to be doing quite well. All the booths were occupied, but there were still plenty of groovy armchairs left. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I ordered a Mojito and they asked me if I wanted to try a Lychee Mojito. Being all adventurous, I decided to go for it, and I'm glad I did because it was delicious! It was quite sweet and that was what I felt like at the time. My husband, on the other hand, had the Grolsch on tap (one of his favourites). Other beverages on offer include Reds, Whites and 30 delicious-sounding cocktails. As well as drinks, the tapas bar menu is on offer until late. We didn't order any tapas that night, but definitely will next time.

There was also live music later in the evening and we just sat there chatting and listening to music. What a nice way to wind down the week. is the perfect place for a quiet drink, a get-together with a few friends, or a private function.
