Discover unique waterfront restaurants at Darling Harbour
True to its name Darling Harbour is the darling of Sydney city with a complete high-class feel to it. Built around water Sydney harbour foreshore this place buzzes with fun, laughter and life acting as the home ground for elegance, glamour and unceasing fun. It is abundant with restaurants and bars and several eateries which are as the lifeline of this almost tinsel town in Sydney. Although it would be complete injustice to pick up a handful of best restaurants and bars located on darling harbour, I have made a quick list (not in any particular order) of my personal favourites which will make your evenings and nights on any day of the year.
Apart from the quintessential steak and wine combo what took my fancy were Button Mushrooms sauteed with creamy onions, Portuguese Prawns in tangy sauce and Lamb Ribs. Amongst other noteworthy dishes from its menu are Szechuan Calamari and Lemon and Herb Chicken.
Experience the taste of Arabia at this place which will transport you back into the finesse and flavour of Middle Eastern cuisine. Open for both lunch and dinner, Kazbah creates grandeur through its ambiance, decor, highly delicate and intricate dinner wares and aroma filled dishes ranging from Shish Kebabs, Roasted Halloumis to The Kazbah Casablanca Royale (this is a must try if you fancy lamb and want to eat like a king).
Situated in the lap of glamour and exotic waterfront views this restaurant boasts of traditional and authentic Italian cuisine, straight from the heart of its owners. Olive oil, fresh tomatoes and abundance of cheese will re-create the taste of Italy in your mouth.
With perhaps one of the best views of the Darling Harbour, Cohibar is a perfect place to unwind on a Friday evening and kick-off your weekend fun. Choose from their selections of bar food, wine and drinks and couple it with some exquisite cigars to enjoy your evening and indulge in some fun time with your friends, partner or even colleagues.
So while this restaurant offers fine dining experience in Indian cuisine with equally tempting waterfront views, it also offers a uniqueness in its dishes which sets it apart form other Indian restaurants in Sydney. Most of the Indian dishes retain their flavour and aroma but they are served and arranged on platter in a modern style. Whilst my favourite dishes are aromatic Chicken Biryani and Murg Ke Sunhare Tikkey the other lip-smacking preparations include Sookhi Bhindi and Tandoori Achari Paneer.
One of the hidden gems of Darling Harbour, Bungalow 8 is a great place to enjoy some drinks and satiate your hunger whether its nibbles with drinks or a proper dinner or a group celebration. With its indoor and outdoor seating you will always find a very place to enjoy some great time on a weekend.
Well it's a place which you don't want to miss out on if you are at the Darling Harbour. From couple of friends to a group to a corporate function - every occasion just becomes bigger and better at Cargo bar located right on the water front of harbour.
If you are at the Helm bar try their cocktail selections which are great to taste and definitely a value for money if you are in a group. They also play loud music which creates just the right mood and feel if you want to shake a leg or two on Saturday nights.
