Let Natalie Delaney-John of Rest in Pieces take you on a journey of discovery in this one-day introduction to the art of taxidermy.
Held on Sunday 20th November from 9am to 7pm at The Autumn Co., this interactive workshop will allow you to get up close and hands-on with this age-old practice, which remains macabre to some, and yet strangely beautiful to others.
During the day, you will learn how to skin and preserve your little mouse, as well as how to mount him into a beautiful standing and very greedy cheese fiend. Everything will be supplied on the day including the mice, tools, aprons, snacks, lunch, great company and even a glass of celebratory bubbles.
All you need to bring is an open mind and a camera.
The one day workshop is priced $500 and places are strictly limited. Early bookings are encouraged as classes sell out quickly. To make a booking, please click here.
If you aren't quite sure if the full day workshop is for you, then Rest in Pieces is hosting a talk on The Art of Taxidermy and a Skinning Demonstration on Friday, 18th November from 7pm to 9pm at The Autumn Co.
The talk and demonstration is not for the squeamish, but it will fascinate those with a healthy curiosity and an open mind. As part of the experience, Natalie will speak about the practice and history of taxidermy and perform a skinning demonstration.
If you are feeling inspired after the event, and want to try taxidermy yourself, you can purchase a one of a kind Revival Kit on the night.
The talk and demonstration is priced $50 and places are strictly limited. Early bookings are encouraged as classes sell out quickly. To make a booking, please click here.
