Come to a place where wine rules in an entertaining not intimidating way. We love to worship at this house of grape located in a former bank. Rather than a restaurant Reserve Wine Bar is a bar that serves food. You are welcome to pull up a stool for a glass or two and head off into the night but most decide to linger longer.
The variety of food is provided to complement the wine, such as oysters, calamari, meat & cheese boards. Confit duck leg on mushroom risotto and sirloin steak for $25 each were our choice of more substantial fare and we were very happy, or maybe that was the wine talking.
The staff of Reserve Wine Bar are friendly and knowledgeable without being pompous. They are happy to discuss and suggest wine without giving you a lecture. The wine bar caters for private functions and also holds special wine dinners (Meerea Park 5/4/16, 4 courses with matching wines for $90 a head).
