Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a firefighter, rescue pilot or surf lifesaver? Find out what it takes to work in rescue services and learn the ropes in the exciting new exhibition at Scienceworks called '
Rescue ', running from 22 March to 5 October 2014.
Rescue is an interactive exhibition, developed by Scitech in Perth, that allows children to explore the state-of-the-art technology used in modern search and rescue operations.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10:00am to 4:30pm, showcasing how developments in medical, communication and engineering technologies are being applied in real-life emergency situations.
It allows visitors to experience what it feels like to be involved in land, sea and air rescues and teaches you how to keep yourself and others safe in an emergency situation through a series of hands-on activities and simulated rescue environments.
Take control of a full-size helicopter and use infrared cameras to search for a lost hiker; hop aboard a jet-ski and rescue a swimmer washed out to sea; or get down low and navigate your way out of a smoke-filled room.
If you choose to purchase your tickets at Scienceworks on the day, it is recommended that you arrive early as sessions fill up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays. Alternatively, you can avoid queuing up at the ticket counters and book your tickets in advance
online or by calling the bookings office on 13 11 02.
Rescue is recommended for children ages 3 and over.
