So you're bicycle-less. Don't let that stop you from exploring New York City on two wheels. Get your kicks through rentals at some of the city's best cycling destinations.

There are three major bike rental companies in the city, which offer rentals and/or tours at multiple locations, so we break it down by company to show you what's available, as well as a few other notable options.

Bike and Roll
The "roll"-down: This company is seemingly everywhere, so you can get rolling in the city's best public spaces, from Prospect Park to Governors Island.
Rental locations: Pier 84, Central Park, Battery Park, Governors Island, Riverside Park, Prospect Park
Rental cost: $12-$20 per hour; $34-$60 for four; $39-$69 for all day
Tours: Central Park & Greenway Tour; Brooklyn Bridge & Hudson River Tour; Central Park Loop Tour; Brooklyn Bridge Neighborhood Bike Tour
Tour cost: $40-$50
Tandem bicycle?: Yes

Bike Rental Central Park
The "roll"-down: The official bike rental company for Central Park, you can find them two blocks from Columbus Circle. Plan in advance, as making a reservation online saves you anywhere from 20-50 percent off.
Rental locations: Central Park
Rental cost (online): $14 for two hours; $18 for three; $23 for four; $32 for all day; includes helmets, locks, baskets and maps
Tours: Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge
Tour cost (online): $40-$52
Tandem bicycle?: Yes

Central Park Bike Tour
The "roll"-down: If you find yourself closer to Seventh Avenue and W. 58th Street, you'll find Central Park Bike Tour. For the closer proximity to the park, you'll pay slightly higher prices. Reservations also available online.
Rental locations: Central Park
Rental cost: $14 for one hour; $20 for two; $25 for three; $40 for all day; includes helmet, map and bike lock
Tours: Central Park, Brooklyn, Harlem, Manhattan-wide
Tour cost: $49-$65
Tandem bicycle?: Yes

Central Park Boathouse
The "roll"-down: If you find yourself in the middle of Central Park at the boathouse, you can also rent a ride and explore on two wheels.
Rental location: Central Park Boathouse
Rental cost: $9-$15 per hour; $45-$50 for all day; helmets included
Tandem bicycle?: No

Everyone Else
The website for the NYC Century Bike Tour has a great list of bike stores that rent bicycles. So no matter where you are, you're sure to find one nearby. And, if you really enjoy your ride around the city, they could help hook you up with a permanent bicycle, too.
