On our recent trip to
Paringa to see its new
silo art, we decided that the $90 hotel room was sufficiently adequate for an overnight stay. Located upstairs towards the back of the building, our room had a queen-size bed, two single beds, a television, wireless internet, refrigerator, iron, ensuite bathroom, heating/cooling and tea/coffee facilities. It was clean and spacious although featuring rather old amenities.

For views of the river, hotel room guests have access to a shared balcony. This is also the place to witness the sun setting in the evening and rising again the next morning. Of course, you'll have your own private balcony if you'd opted for the premium rooms. Other hotel facilities include a swimming pool, laundry service and free onsite parking. Because our room was quite a fair way from the onsite parking, we ended up parking by the road right in front of the hotel's entrance.

As for dining, we had a fabulous experience at its Nanya Bistro. We enjoyed
lunch there but it is also open for breakfast and dinner. The food was simply delicious and both our half-serve schnitzel and prawns were very generous in size. The bistro, managed by really friendly front of house staff, has a relaxed atmosphere with an alfresco deck overlooking the river. Just wished the reception staff was just as cordial at check-in.
