The inaugural Renegade Design Market, a new initiative of Design College Australia, will launch on the college's rooftop on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 12pm.
This brand new boutique design market will showcase designer delights by Queensland's best-known creatives, alongside original works created by Design College Australia's talented students.
There will be an eclectic range of stallholders to peruse throughout the afternoon; some of the highlights include typographic screenprints courtesy of Paul Nolan, original artworks by the inimitable Claudio Kirac and laser cut timber jewellery from Strangestranger and many more esteemed Queensland artists and artisans; you can browse the full list of participating stallholders here.
The Design College Australia students will also be holding their own stall, offering experimental original works created in class. Each of these works are the result of the college's traditional printmaking techniques, including vintage letterpress printing using wood and metal typography and embellishments.
The Renegade Design Market also coincides with the excitement of the college's annual Open Day. This is unique opportunity to explore the creative breeding ground that is Design College Australia, and also purchase an original artwork by an up and coming artist for yourself or as a gift at a bargain price.
