On 11 November 2018 at 11.00am, Australia will be commemorating the Centenary of the Armistice - the moment the guns finally fell silent on the Western Front, bringing World War I to an end.

Although the news of the ceasefire was greeted with relief and joy, there was also a sense of shared grief and loss. Many families were affected - of the 330,000 men who had served overseas, 62,000 had been killed and more than 150,000 had been wounded or taken prisoner.

At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, people around Australia will pause to remember the lives lost during this and other conflicts of the past century.

RSL Queensland will host Queensland's biggest Remembrance Day ceremony at the Shrine of Remembrance in ANZAC Square in Brisbane. For Sunshine Coasters who would love to join in and be part of these very special Remembrance Day Services, here is an alphabetical guide to locations in and around the Sunshine Coast.
