What used to be the Portside Food and Wine Festival is now Relish Fraser Coast. This inaugural event brings fresh and inspiring things to Maryborough in 2013. Showcasing, promoting and celebrating regional produce and food industry, this event brings delectable seasonal produce, divine local seafood, knowledgeable and cutting-edge chefs and fine regional wineries. You're invited to various wine and cheese tastings, interesting beer and food matching sessions, innovative cooking and coffee demonstrations and so much more. Located in a premium location, Maryborough's glorious Portside precinct, you'll no doubt relish this day.



Heard of Nick Street-Brown, Krista Graham or Rocco? If you haven't, then get ready to be blown away by these exceptional chefs at Food Lovers Cooking Marquee. If you have, then you know that awesome things are in store for you.

Currently the head chef at COAST Hervey Bay, Nick has worked in a three Michelin starred restaurant in New York as well as Rick Stein's The Seafood Restaurant in Cornwall. Nick's wife, Krista, is currently the pastry chef at COAST. Having worked at Cha Cha Char and Rick Stein's The Seafood Restaurant, Krista loves all things sweet. Let the husband and wife team dazzle you with delicious cuisine featuring local produce as well as seasonal and inventive desserts.

For those Italian food lovers you're definitely in for a treat. With Rocco's myriad experiences in England, France and Italy, you'll be so impressed by Rocco that you'll be back to Villa Cavour B&B (where Rocco is the head chef) for more.

Wine lovers will no doubt know that each wine has a story to tell. At Relish, you'll get to indulge in fine wine from visiting regional wineries including Sirromet Wines, Bellbird Vineyards, Kingsley Grove Estate, to name a few.

Have you filled up with lots of scrumptious food and wine? Well, let the entertainment help you digest. When you need a breather, sit down and relax to superb entertainers such as Al Davies and Sue-Ann Stewart. Of course there are plenty of activities to keep the little ones entertained as well. A fun and educational experience is waiting for them at Little Green Thumbs where they have the opportunity to plant their own seedling and take it home. For those little chefs, they'll be right at home with Junior Chef where they'll design their very own arrowroot biscuits.

Homebrew not your thing? Perhaps photography is. With the theme 'savour the moment' in the food and/or wine industry, photographers out there are encouraged to get involved this year and exhibit their creativity and imagination in the Relish Photography Competition. Photos from around the Fraser Coast Region will be featured in this competition and all entries will be displayed in Maryborough's Gatakers Artspace in June. To enter, please see their website.



You're probably thinking "There's so much happening, but so little time." Well, Relish has gone the extra mile to give you even more by partnering up with local businesses. COAST Restaurant is offering a four course food and wine degustation on Saturday 1 June for $85 per person. This is the perfect way to lead into Relish. Bookings essential so get in quick to avoid disappointment.

If you'd rather get your hands dirty, why not enrol in the gourmet cooking class with head chef Rocco at Villa Cavour B&B? No previous experience required, but do follow your dreams to be the next Italian Masterchef. Held on Saturday 1 June and Sunday 2 June, these cooking classes cost $80 per person and feature Rocco's favourite Italian dishes. Tickets to Relish are $10 per adult. With wine sampling, Food Lovers Cooking Marquee, excellent entertainment all day, various information sessions and entry to Gatakers Artspace, you're definitely bound to have a great time.
