I am a writer living in Annerley, Brisbane. I write about my suburb and other local spots. If you like my articles please subscribe (just after my name) or 'like' at the end of the post to let me know what else I should write! I love comments too :)
Found objects and interesting items make great prints

Learn how to make original prints using traditional collograph and monoprinting techniques with printmaker Kay Wantanabe. These are the types of techniques which you can take home with you and easily replicate on lots of different items.
You can use all sorts of items on your 'plate' such as paper, leaves, packing materials and any other interesting found objects. You will then hand-print with a special hand-held tool called a 'baren'. By the end of the workshop, you will have produced a few prints to take home and the skills to do more anytime.
Suitable for adults and children aged 12 and up but taught at an adult level, this class would be a great one for your tweens and teens to take part in as a fun family outing.
The classes take place at The Gardens Club which feels like an oasis in the middle of the city. Look out through large windows into the lush Brisbane City Botanic Gardens.
