I was lucky enough to get given the Harbour Day Spa Winter Package as a gift. After making an appointment with the lovely reception ladies on the phone, I went in the very next day to have my Hollywood treatment.
I had never been to a day spa before so admittedly I was a little nervous about what to expect. After nervously chatting to the reception lady on arrival, I soon felt like I had nothing to worry about and felt silly for my nerves.
She walked me down and showed me around which made me feel important. The winding stairs down to the spa make you really feel like you were entering a Roman getaway. The Spa area looks fantastic. I unfortunately didn't have the time to jump in the pools, but oh how I wish I did!
The Roman feel continued into this area and it really took you to the other side of the world. I got changed into my robes in the fancy bathroom and waited for the therapist in a quite tranquil room. I helped myself to magazines and a guest book, not that I had time to read them though. There was dried fruit, tea and water all there for the taking too.
It really got you relaxed; well it helped me that's for sure. Luckily it wasn't an anxious wait and my therapist was there in no time. She led to me to the suite where my feet were treated to their exfoliation and aroma bath. Then my favourite part, the full body massage. This was great and my therapist talked me through it to make sure it was the right pressure and I was happy and comfortable. Not having many massages myself I was worried that it could hurt but she was absolutely great. It felt really good and I was very relaxed the whole time. I was worried I'd talk the lady's ear off but it was so relaxing I didn't want to ruin it by my own voice.
There was also relaxing music being played quietly in the background. After my amazing massage I got to have a facial. I'd never had one of these before so had no idea what to expect, and wow, am I lucky to get to experience it. I was warned that my face may get red afterwards but it didn't and it felt so tight and clean.
I went home with my whole body feeling and smelling beautiful. I would defiantly recommend having a visit to a day spa if you have the time and the cash because it is worth it to spend time with yourself. There is nothing to distract you but your own thoughts and as soon as you're enjoying that massage then you kinda forget about everything you had to worry about that day and you just relax.
