I am always looking for new things to experience with our family. There is so much out there and it would be great to share some of our weekend adventures.

A compact park filled with key playground ingredients
When we went to check out the Reg Marlow playground for a play, I was most impressed by how well this park was set out. Reg Marlow is a local playground and is by no means big. However, all the key elements of a playground were available and the way in which the play area was designed and put together was refreshing. One can analogize with the IKEA showrooms, where different pieces of furniture are well combined and a small area is best utilised to give a feeling of space which feels just right. The landscaping of the area feels quite contemporary and fits in well with the newly built townhouses which are just behind this park.
The playground has a central wooden seating area with a large umbrella covering. The main wooden play structure has two slides, a rock climbing wall, a fireman's pole and a rope climbing wall and curved ladders.
There is also a sandpit area with a digger for kids to enjoy as well as a spinning cup. There is a set of swings, see-saw and a basket swing and a delightful little wooden shop where the kids can enjoy being shopkeeper for a day.
The facilities include a sheltered picnic area, with BBQs and water taps. Unfortunately, there are no toilets. The other thing to note is that this park is close to a main road and parking is only available on the side roads.
Although this park may not be fancy and have all the bells and whistles, it is new, well maintained and nicely presented. The kids will definitely enjoy a visit there. Adding a few bubbly kids that need to release all their energy will be the essential ingredient to a great time at the Reg Marlow Park.
