Reef Seafood + Sushi Brisbane

This has to be one of my favourite seafood restaurants (besides being the ideal meet-up point in Brisbane when my son flies in from Sydney). Reef Seafood + Sushi is a family-owned business and actually has two restaurants to its name - one in
Southport, on the Gold Coast and the one in
Brisbane . Reef Seafood only stock premium local, Australian and New Zealand seafood and enjoy an excellent relationship with local fishermen, ensuring that they provide you with the highest quality and widest variety at the best prices.
Well-positioned in Newstead (close to the Freeway for those of us who live on the Sunshine Coast), this very contemporary Brisbane restaurant has up-market decor with white and black furnishings and striking white and black marble features throughout, all adding to the welcoming and classy ambience.
Reef Seafood + Sushi can cater for up to eighty seated patrons and offers the discerning diner a large range of fresh seafood as well as delicious Japanese inspired seafood dishes. Your order is cooked from the freshest seafood straight from the large display tanks and you can even watch your fresh fillets being cut. Japanese chefs, with the head chef having forty years experience, prepare the best Sushi, Sashimi and an array of other amazing Japanese dishes - something to suit even the most selective palate.
A fully-licenced bar, craft beers on tap, an incredible selection of wines and bubblies and even an oyster bar with an on-site oyster opener all add to the unique experience of visiting this ever-popular restaurant.
Reef Seafood + Sushi is part of a retail precinct located inside the old gas holder. The tall iron structure of the number two gas holder on Skyring Terrace is a remnant of the Gasworks, which was established in 1887 as Brisbane's second gas works. This structure was originally located at the Petrie Bight Gasworks where it was erected in 1873.*
Offering a
Menu that will have you salivating, they also have a Specials Board on display. One has to approach the counter to put in your order and the very friendly always-smiling staff will deliver your food to the table of your choice. We have never pre-booked a table at Reef and even though they are always extremely busy, we always seem to be able to locate a vacant table. Their service is fast and efficient and with dine in or take-away options, one can understand why this is such a popular venue.
Free two hour parking in the retail precinct, an outdoor park area for the littlies to stretch their legs in-between courses all adds to the allure of my frequent visits - it truly is a unique experience.
