Kill two birds with one stone: Kids and train nuts
Are you a ferro-equinologist? Or more simply put, are you a train enthusiast ?

Looking for a fun day out for the whole family ?

My first boyfriend all those years ago, certainly was a rail fan. Our first date was a train trip from Sydney up to the Blue Mountains to experience the ride from Valley Heights up to Katoomba - 32 kilometres of steep track with a gradient of 1:31. Or so I was told.

The Cleveland Assembly Hall at 44 Smith Street, Cleveland, will be the venue for this year's Redlands Model Railway Show.

The Assembly Hall lies between Cleveland High School and the Redlands Museum and has plenty of free, on site parking.

The Redlands Model Railway Group, a sub group of the Redlands Museum, will have model trains of all types and sizes on display, and in excess of twenty layouts for both young and old to enjoy.

Trade stands will also be available for the enthusiasts.

The Show commences on Saturday,12th September, at 9 am through till 5 pm, and again on Sunday, 13th September, from 9 am till 4pm.

The onsite canteen will be available for refreshments.

As well, the entrance fee into the Redlands Model Railway Show will also allow free same day entry into the Redlands Museum next door.

Entry Fees are : Adults $5
Concession $4
Children $1
Pre school No charge

May I make one last suggestion for those with Little People. Young children tend to have a short attention span so to ensure that all family members enjoy their day out I recommend crossing the road to the Norm Price Park, directly opposite the Redlands Museum, for a break between activities. This is open parkland with a few picnic tables only, though there is enough space to kick a ball around for half an hour.

See you down the track somewhere.
