The Redlands IndigiScapes Centre is Redland City Council's environmental education facility. It is based in a beautiful bush land setting that includes a 400 year old Tallowwood Tree and an array of native birds, turtles, lizards and marsupials.

If you are looking for a place to enjoy with the whole family, this is your spot. There are themed botanical gardens, walking trails, and the Bushtucker Cafe which serves a fine Devonshire Tea, as well as other treats.

The sand pit and flying fox in the children's playground is a good area to wear the little ones out, and I find that looking for koalas in the trees keeps them occupied too. Searching for feathered friends in the bird nesting boxes scattered around the parkland is always good value, as is a picnic lunch on the lawns.

And yes, Ingiscapes is stroller friendly - that's another positive, isn't it?

Indeed, IndigiScapes has a particular focus on involving children and developing a sense of wonder and interest in the natural environment.

On Saturday, 24th of March, the Centre is holding a Free Family Event to inspire the whole family to create new habits at home and in the garden. The idea is a totally green program of reduce, reuse and recycle for the betterment of our home and environment.

Redlands IndigiScapes Centre opens at 10am daily, closing at 4pm, and is located at 17 Runnymeade Road, Capalaba.

Oh, Mum's and Dad's, there is also a Native Nursery attached where you can purchase young plants for your garden, as well as a well stocked Gift Shop (which always skilfully removes my hard earned dollars).
