Easter is a great time to get out and about with the family and have some fun. The is a brilliant option for families on a budget, as the churches of the greater Redland City community have combined forces each year to provide the event to the public for free.



The festival will have jumping castles, rock walls, a giant slide, and thrilling rides including Super Sizzler and Extreme Force to keep the kids screaming with delight. You'll also have the chance to see Little Aussie Rollers, try out an obstacle course, and snuggle something fluffy at the animal petting zoo. But wait, there's more!



There will also be a puppet show for the kids, face painting, murals, performance by the Redland City Choir, Redland City Children's Choir, The Rock Christian Church Band, Highland Irish Dancers, Tongan Gospel Choir, and many other acts and bands.



The was first held on the shores of Raby Bay in Cleveland in 2000 as the result of a vision by Pastor Glen Gray that churches should work together to offer a day of free celebration and Christian witness of the Easter message to the greater Redland City community. Every year the event has grown bigger and bigger, and this year it occupies the Cleveland Showgrounds on the 6th of April.



This all probably sounds too good to be true, but the event is genuinely free – even the food and drink! There will be a giant sausage sizzle, donuts, drinks, tea and coffee with scones, and sandwiches.

As organiser John Van Dijk said to me over email, "This is an opportunity for Brisbane and Redland families to enjoy a free day without having to pay out hundreds of dollars, in an alcohol free and family friendly environment. While hosting this event, we attract many visitors to the Redlands, who will all agree that the Redland City is a great place to live."



So why not grab the family and head down to the Cleveland Showgrounds on Monday 6th of April to celebrate a fabulous Easter with John and all the volunteers?
