Beers, busking and beautiful bay views. These three elements make for a perfect relaxing Saturday afternoon and they happen to set the scene for the Redlands Bayfest Festival, coming up on June 16. Situated on stunning Moreton Bay in the heritage precinct of Cleveland Point, the historic Grand View Hotel plays venue to this fun filled festival.
Live entertainment runs all day long to provide a great soundtrack to your chilled-out day. It all kicks off at 11am and the vibes begin straight away with Clare Hanson taking the stage. Busking acts, Captain Tricko and The Duffy Brothers will be on throughout the day along with other singers and musicians such as Ewan McKenzie, the Benchmark Quartet (from Australia's Got Talent) and the Little Steely Brothers.
Local Redlands guys, The Little Steely Brothers are on at 3pm, playing all the hits from The Little River Band, Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers. With such a large repertoire of classics, this six piece band puts on a great sing-along set with smooth harmonies and upbeat music. Due to high demand, they have recently added songs from The Eagles to their set list. So, with a beer or wine in hand, you'll be singing along to "Hotel California" in no time.
Beverages will be a plenty on the day with fine wines and craft beer available from around Australia. Tastes from the vine are coming from well established wine regions such as Margaret River, Barossa Valley and the Yarra Valley. If a pint is more your style then head to the craft beer hall, where specialist beers will be on offer.
Along with a tasty drop, a delicious array of food can be purchased on the day from the Grand View's kitchen. Fresh seafood, top quality meat and pasta dishes will provide the perfect accompaniment to the wine, beer and entertainment keeping the laid-back Saturday afternoon rolling on.
For a spectacular finale to the day, Fijian Fire Dancers will put on an impressive performance, followed by a huge fireworks display at 6:30pm. So if you're looking for a great fun-filled day with a relaxed, chilled atmosphere, then head along to Bayfest in the picturesque Cleveland Point.
