Celebrate World Environment Day and join in the fun activities at this year's on Saturday 4 June 2022.

This free family and community event will be held from 9 am to 2 pm at the Redlands IndigiScapes Centre at 17 Runnymede Rd, Capalaba.



There will be something for every day with activities and events which showcase the beauty of the natural world.

Be sure to look out for Ranger Stacey with D'Aguilar and Geckoes Wildlife. Staff from the Redland City Council's Environment Education Unit and Council teams from Waste, Pest Management, and Fire Management will also be on hand.

Some of the other organisations available to chat with on the day include Libraries First First Five Forever, Environmental and Gardening advice, Environment and Community organisations, Redland Organic Growers Inc., Oakland Street Community Gardens, Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland Bayside branch, Tangalooma Eco Marines, Dolphin Rescue Australia, Boomerang Bags, Scouts Queensland, Cancer Council Queensland.

As well the day will be filled with lots of free activities and entertainment such as:

World Environment Day is recognised on Monday 5 June and this year's theme will focus on Solutions to Plastic Pollution. World Environment Day 2023 will showcase how countries, businesses and individuals are learning to use the material more sustainably, offering hope that one day, plastic pollution will be history.

Take the opportunity to enjoy a fun, free, family day out and learn more about protecting and enjoying our precious environment.
