What is more enjoyable than sitting in a beer garden, overlooking boats and ferries sliding across the beautiful Moreton Bay, with a side serving of live music?
Redland Bay Hotel is unlike many of the other pubs in the Redlands of Brisbane's South East. It is is no way flash, nor has there been any attempt at gentrification like some other old hotels in the area. The Redland Bay Hotel simply is what it is.

This is about it.
It's the views across the expansive Bay to Russell, Macleay and Karrangarra Islands that make relaxing in the fresh air the hero at this venue. Although there is a small gaming room the indoor dining area is minimal. Most of the outside tables are undercover, and you can witness the venue's growth in popularity with tables spilling onto the edges of the lawn area.

How gorgeous is this?
Other than the spectacular views what is the attraction?
The Redland Bay Hotel is very much a family friendly venue for meals and for catching up with friends. The children's playground is fenced and can be viewed from anywhere in the beer garden, and there are also a large number of high chairs available. For me, I personally like that being outside parents can relax and not be overly concerned if the little ones drop the odd chip off their plates.
On Saturdays and Sundays, there is live music in the beer garden from noon, only adding to the conviviality. It also means that you don't have to keep telling the kiddies to be quiet - it's just not that type of place.

Music in the sunshine - great stuff
Lunch times during the week are also popular at this venue, with the Hotel offering discounted Senior meals.

The squeeze and I had both survived a busy week though weren't really up for a big lunch. We recuperated in the winter sun, listening to the music, with a bowl of wedges fending off the wildlife. What a wonderful way to lose an hour or two.

Fending off the Natives
We are now looking forward to going back in the evening to sample the Centaurus Seafood Platter.

This looks worth trying
