* LANTERN PARADE LED BY JUNKADELIC BRASS BAND
This will be on Saturday at 6.15 pm and will be a roaming performance. The Lantern Parade will illuminate the showgrounds this year.

They will be giant 3D characters and animals all lit up! The crew from LightnUp has prepared a vibrant show for you with everything from clowns and circus dogs to goldfish and mermaids featuring in the parade. This will be a parade to remember and just that bit different to other parades around.

It's not just the big lanterns that will steal the show. Children will have the chance to decorate their own special lantern and be part of the parade. There will be a LightnUp's Lantern Decorating Workshop on Saturday afternoon and you can find out more at this link.

* STRAWBERRY EATING COMPETITION
A Strawberry Fest cannot be one without a strawberry eating competition! They go hand in hand. For more than 60 years, the locals of the Redlands have come together to celebrate and admire the delightful morsel that is the sweet, tasty strawberry.

They have used them to make jams, wine, scones, salads, smoothies and just about anything else they could think of. They have even dressed up as strawberries! They have held strawberry dances and they even crowned a 'Miss Strawberry Queen'. All this is to promote those delightful little red berries that grow on the ground on the rich red soil of the Redlands.

RedFest is delighted to continue with this tradition every year by holding 'The World Famous Strawberry Eating Competition'. Here the lovers of this fine berry will gather to eat a small bowl of fruit in the fastest time known to man, woman and child!

The Strawberry Eating Competition heats will be held at RedFest with the semi-finals and final on Sunday at RedFest. A few years ago they used 40kg of strawberries for this competition. Juniors consume 100g strawberries and open contestants, 160g.

Check out this link for times for each heat.

FAIRY RAINE FACE PAINTING
Get ready for a magical experience that will delight and enchant all the pixies and fairies of Redland, big and small. Fairy Raine is flying in for a visit, and while she's here, she'll transform your face into an amazing work of art with her face painting.

But wait, there is still more! Fairy Raine isn't just an award-winning body painter, but she brings magic to the experience as a REAL fairy.

As she is painting your face, she is likely to talk about her fairy world, tell you some secrets, and you can ask her anything you like about her delightful home at Fairy Lane.

Fairy Raine flutters between face painting, body art, belly painting for blossoming mums-to-be, and organising fairy parties.

GECKOES WILDLIFE**
You will be able to get up close and personal with several amazing Australian animals including snakes, crocodiles, frogs, possums, owls, lizards and more!

Geckoes Wildlife has been in operation for over 15 years. During this time, they have gathered a wonderful collection of wildlife. They also breed and conserve the rare, threatened and endangered species of animals.

Nowhere else in the world can you experience what this festival has on offer.
