Once you drive across the long bridge you are away from the horror traffic and smog of Brisbane. Don't get me wrong as Brisbane is a beautiful city it's just that Redcliffe is a city with a difference.
Surrounded by the beautiful views of Moreton bay and across to Moreton Island, it's a great place to enjoy that early morning bike ride or run as it has 15kms of sealed bike path around the foreshore, which is very enjoyable as the sun comes up across the clear sparkling water.
Redcliffe parade is full of cafes and coffee shops to top up on after that early morning bit of excercise. If you are after that great Aussie pie or just feel like a cake or two there are also many pie shops around the foreshore. If it be fishing that entices you, you have the revamped Northern end of the old Hornibrook bridge. Redcliffe and Woody Point jetties to throw that line.
There is an abundance of parks and free barbecues to let the kids play and to throw that big haul of fish on to finish off the day. Take the drive north of Brisbane approximately 30 kms and you will have a nice quiet relaxing day to excercise or read that book in one of the many parks and beaches surrounding the peninsula.
