Head to Redcliffe for the Redcliffe Festival of Sails on Good Friday, 18 April 2014.

Celebrating all things Easter and nautical, the Festival provides a day of fabulous family fun with heaps of things to do. There are masses of activities and workshops to keep you busy throughout the day so make sure you join in for a great time.

Shoppers and foodies will be well catered for with more than 120 market stalls full of goodies. When you need to catch your breath, chill out by the stage and enjoy a bit of live entertainment. Catch the Easter bunny as it hops around with a basket of eggs and take a look at the yachts from the 66th QantasLink Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.

Entry is free, parking at the Showgrounds is free, and the shuttle bus from the Showgrounds to the Festival site is also free. How good is that? Plus, there are plenty of things to do for free at the Festival. With so much on offer, who can resist all the Festival fun?

Workshops & Activities

Plenty of workshops and activities run throughout the day giving visitors of all ages a chance to learn something new or create something fabulous to take home.

Kids can create their very own floating boat to sail, discover splendid ways to re-use everyday items, and make their own fish tail Easter Bonnet. If you love the art of decorating, then come and decorate life-sized Easter eggs or your paper umbrella making it stylish, fashionable, and sun safe. Other activities include candle making, sand wizard, face painting and African drumming.

If you're an animal lover, then step into the Animal Farm to cuddle and play with the most gorgeous baby animals including lambs, piglets, kid goats, ducklings and guinea pigs. And while you're here, saddle up and go for a ride on a pony.

Who doesn't love amusement rides? There is something for everyone at the Festival with a whole heap of awesome rides including Paratrooper, Jumping Castle, Rock Wall and Titanic Slide. Rides are $4 per ride or purchase an unlimited rides wristband for only $15. Bargain!

Fun on the Beach

If you've ever wanted to learn to make a kite, then join in the kite making fun with Redcliffe Kite Club Inc. And check out the Kitepower Australia experts showing off their kite flying, kite surfing and kite boarding skills. You'll definitely be impressed, let me assure you.

Your kids will want to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt on the beach. So come down, Hhp around, dig deep down to find yummy Easter treats!

Adventurous folks will have the chance to register for Come 'n' Try Slacklining. Take part in a fun session working on your balancing skills before walking the slackline. As numbers are limited, make sure you book ahead.

Sporty souls can enjoy a round of beach volleyball, try their hand at stand up paddle boarding and kayaking, and have a relaxing boating experience with paddle boats.

There are also super fun competitions such as mullet tossing and dry boat racing guaranteed to make you laugh.Sand sculpting displays and demonstrations will begin at 9am which will amaze crowds with an enormous sand sculpture. Plus you get to join in some sculpting fun from noon.

Be part of the excitement and watch local Outrigger Canoe clubs go head to head in a thrilling race. Don't forget to show them your support with a big wave.

Stage Spectacular

With two stages and a jam-packed program, visitors will be entertained to the max.

Easter Fun with the Jingles, the Rainbow's Eco Show and Magic Glen will be popular with young visitors. Those who love a bit of live music will not be disappointed as various artists have been lined-up to entertain festival goers including Hayden Hack Infusion, Hailey Calver and Carl Wockner.

Whatever you do, don't miss out on the awesome spectacle of a parachuting Easter bunny on the beach at 10am.

Food & Markets

Discover the irresistible charm of over 100 market stalls lined up along Suttons Beach. There are plenty of sparkly handmade jewellery, stylish clothing and homewares as well as toys, specialty coffees and deli treats. So go on, buy yourself something nice.

Foodies will be pleased with the gastronomic delights on offer. Flavours from around the world will gather here ready to excite all palates. This is your chance to go on a food tour with spicy curries, wood-fired pizzas, French crepes and Spanish tapas. Plus seafood lovers will have the chance to indulge in the freshest seafood selections

What's more, keep an eye out for the creative workshops and the roving entertainers who will entertain crowds wherever they go. Most of all, just enjoy the effervescent atmosphere.
