Great country stay
On a recent trip to Murrumbatemman to celebrate a family wedding we had the pleasure of staying at Redbrow Gardens in the 3 bedroom self contained guest house. Just 20 minutes north of Canberra the B&B can be found next to Robyn Rowe chocolates and just down the road from Poachers Pantry.
The setting was perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway as there was no internet or mobile access at the property. The farmhouse is completely self contained with a large kitchen, bathroom, laundry, BBQ area and plenty of seating in the lounge room.
The surrounding gardens are lovely and are home to a large variety of birds, Blue Wrens were abundant on our visit. We spotted rabbits and a couple of kangaroos when we were bushwalking on the other side of the lake. Other outdoor activities included a clay tennis court, rowing on the lake or visiting the resident alpacas and chickens. On site there was also a lovely communal lounge area equipped with a pool table, board games, DVDs, magazines and books.
Check in time is 3pm and checkout time is 11am. If booking the Lakeside rooms breakfast is self service in a communal dining room. Room rates vary depending on the night Friday & Saturday being the most expensive at $195 for a couple. Group rates are also available and it would be a great venue for a family get together. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the hosts James and Debbie offer friendly non intrusive service. The surrounding area is dotted with wineries, gourmet food suppliers and interesting country towns such as Murrumbateman and Gunning.
