Located in Beckenham, Red Turban is an Indian restaurant that claims to serve outstanding authentic north Indian food. We entered the restaurant with high expectations and great hunger for traditional Indian food. The ambience was about average. We were made to wait for more than 10 minutes just to be served and sit at the table when the restaurant was actually empty and only had another couple waiting for take-away order. Finally when the waiter decided to look at us, and showed us our table by pointing a finger, we got an idea that this was not going to be one of our pleasant dinner nights.

After ordering our food, we requested for water. He disappeared. So we asked another waiter but he went to the counter and returned with a piece of paper after 5 minutes to confirm what we ordered. How long is one expected to stay calm? We had to shout to get a glass of water. The food was below average and still expensive. Naan wasn't freshly made and probably was from a frozen packet - the kind you get at the supermarkets. The overall experience was unpleasant and the poor and careless customer service made it even worse.

Don't be fooled by their website and the pictures, I would never recommend anyone to try this Indian restaurant.
