Melbourne has so much to offer. I love experiencing new places and events and sharing them with you.
I have an interest in gluten free, vegan and vegetarian diets so I will let you know if you these can be catered for in my reviews.

Red Robin is traditionally a character in the DC comics, and fictional is what you may think about when you think about a cafe that caters for your particular dietary requirements.
Behold – Red Robin, a cafe that is all about feeding you delicious food whether you require gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, nut free or even fructose friendly, this is the place for you! They aim to cater for everyone.
Unlike some, this cafes is not just trading on this unique ability to cater to your diet. It is a warm environment, with pleasant surrounds to sit at. The customer service is lovely, from the moment you walk in the door you will feel welcome. Your questions will be answered without fuss or judgement, a welcome relief for those of us who do have to ask those questions. Bring your children; they will be as welcome as will you.
Now let's talk about the menu. Even if you are not concerned about special diets, you will be pleased by the interesting choice. Breakfast includes light options, such as fresh yoghurt, french toast or pancakes or you could build your own breaky starting with the eggs.
I couldn't go past the Red Robyn breakfast, which was beautifully presented, a polenta base with smokey mushrooms and oven roasted cherry tomatoes. My friend delighted in the french toast with maple syrup and bacon, not so common in Melbourne as an option, this one hit the spot. A welcome rescue from the common breakfast staples.
Lunch is served from 11.30. Take your pick from soup of the day, salads, or something more substantial such as kangaroo or frittata. They also do a range of teas, including caffeine free, smoothes and shakes. I had the chilli hot chocolate, which was delightful on a cool winters day.
Red Robin has come to the rescue of thousands of Melbournians for who eating out presents some challenges. Here is a cafe that truly caters for anyone who wants a comfortable meal, great coffee, and a fun catch up with friends.
Wow, what an unbiased review! Everything is delightful!! Well it's okay. I travelled there for the salmon rosti which was presented well but the rosti itself didn't have that consistent crunch due to the sweet potato and went a bit mushy under the spinach. Haloumi and salmon with garnishes were nicely done. The coffee; fairly standard for Melbourne, the staff; a little inexperienced and high school kids (was a Sunday though) dominated by the manager (at the time) who probably needs to chill out and let her staff do their job. All up, great work on catering to various dietary requirements but needs work on their beans and wait staff to compete at the level of inner city cafes.
