Red Nose Day is to raise awareness and funds for SIDS and kids –safe sleeping, research and bereavement projects. SIDS is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome– many have lost a child and recovery is tough as losing an infant is a real challenge for all the family.

The SID Research Foundation was founded in 1977 after Kaarene Fitzgerald lost her son. Her personal tragedy inspired her to work tirelessly to develop this vibrant and vital organisation.

Victoria held the first Red Nose Day in 1987 but it took another year to become the annual national fundraiser for the cause and it continues to be the main fundraiser for sudden infant death. Raising more than $16.5 million to support research and education programs to date.

Red Nose Day is held annually on the last Friday of June, so please visit the website . You can donate or buy their products or at least share awareness and what it means to so many young families.
