The last Friday in June can only mean…
Red Nose Day. This annual event will be celebrating its 25th year, and you can be a part of it.
This event is a major fundraiser for SIDS and Kids, to raise awareness and support for babies, children and families. The idea for the red nose first came about in 1988, and the first Red Nose Day saw the sale of a million face noses. Since then, the day has become a national event celebrated around Australia. This year, a special competition has been launched to make the Red Nose campaign just that little bit more fun.
Participants are being called upon to be silly for a serious cause. Basically, all you have to do is to take a photo of yourself being silly with a red nose, and submit it
online to the Silly Snapshot competition, part of this year's Red Nose Day. It is a simple and easy way to raise awareness, get your friends and family involved, and also be in the running to win the new iPad.
Of course, there are other ways of fundraising for Red Nose Day, including holding a morning tea at work or having a casual dress day, the options are limited only to your imagination. Whatever way you choose, all participants can take advantage of the
Everyday Hero website. You can set up your own, dedicated fundraising page, send out invites, customise your page and spread the word via social media and using the power of the internet.
So alert your friends to take part in Red Nose Day 2012, and get silly in red. For more information, including extra fundraising ideas, please visit
