As a lover of op shops and secondhand furniture stores, you cannot imagine my jubilation when I came across this local treasure trove after my recent relocation to Tweed Valley. It is literally chock-a-block full of all sorts of building materials and knick-knacks.

the sign is understated
A couple of ladies were stocking up on some unusual smaller pieces; one couple were looking for a particular door, while two gents were individually browsing for whatever caught their eye.

something for everyone
And when they say there is something for everyone, they are not exaggerating! On offer is a broad range of timber, doors, windows and plantation shutters, a variety of kitchen fittings, antique signs, stain glass windows, bricks, pavers, old fuel ovens and fireplaces. Plus plenty of boxes of old stock and discontinued lines. Security is tight with CCTV cameras on you at all times - they need to be, as there is much to tempt us.

many stained glass windows to choose from
Service was friendly and I'm sure they're inclined to keep an eye out if you are looking for something in particular. It's a family business with most of them sporting a ginger top, hence the name, I guess!

windows, doors and the kitchen sink
Their
website gives you a taste but stock comes and goes rapidly. So if you like this kind of thing, leave the partner and kids at the beach or coffee shop, so that you can take your time to look for that bargain or add something really unique to your home.

hand basins, laundry tubs and discontinued stock
I couldn't carry too much on my bicycle but I'm guessing they would be open to bargaining. An easy drive from the Gold Coast or Brisbane, I could have browsed for hours as every space revealed something more - so make sure you visit with plenty of time to explore.
