The highly anticipated Red Hill Show is the Mornington Peninsula's equivalent to the Royal Melbourne Show. Back in its 89th year, the Red Hill Show is being held on Labour Day Saturday, 11th March 2017. Plan to stay all day as the show has plenty to see and do with animals, attractions, demonstrations and activities, all at a fraction of the cost of the city based alternative.
Entry to the Red Hill Show is only $15 for adults and $10 for kids and concessions, or $50 for a family of five, making it excellent value. For the price of entry, patrons can enjoy four areas of non-stop entertainment in addition to the roving performers. The Show itself includes animal judging from sheep and poultry, alpaca, cattle and miniature goats, to the Kelpie working dog demonstration on the top oval. There's the Mountain boarders demonstration and the woodchop, the Gumboot Throw and dog High Scramble.
Inhale the clean country air as you enjoy live musical entertainment on the sound stage. Local schools will be performing in addition to African Drumming, The Jackson Four and Rob Papp & The Blues Head.
Delight your senses over at the cooking stage and pick up some nifty new kitchen tips. Michael Demagistris, the MasterChef Semi-Finalist will be appearing live on stage as will Max Allen, giving a Master Class in cider appreciation. Marlene Hoff of 100 Mile Foodie will also be cooking alongside the fruit cake and gourmet dip judging.
Down on the bottom oval kids will find an adventure wonderland with some Hot Shot Tennis, an arts workshop, free pony rides, free circus workshop, free face painting, free rock climbing, free ball crawl, free cup n saucer ride, a fire rescue challenge, jumping castle, Kids Car Ed and the adrenalin pumping Cha Cha.
As you roam about the show you'll discover plenty of market stalls and community displays in addition to the petting farm and classic car display, the Bunnings tent, Black Snake Productions, woodturning, spinning and weaving demonstrations, ferrets and rates, Wacca the Musical Koala, flowers, fruit & vegetable, art & craft displays and more.
Gates open to the public at 8.30am with the show concluding at 5pm. Be sure and find the perfect spot for the Grand Agricultural Parade featuring at 3pm. It's a spectacle not to be missed.
