With summer fast on its way it's scarily time to start planning for the new year. Why not kick off January with a Country Music Festival on the Peninsula?

Mt Eliza Lions Club is putting on their annual country music festival in Red Hill with all proceeds being donated to health services on the Peninsula. The event will be held at Red Hill Showgrounds Reserve (Melways ref 190 J3).

There will be food, market and stalls, children's rides and of course music. Local and interstate artists will be performing a range of country music, country rock, bluegrass and honky tonk. Talent includes Markus Meier, Jayne Denham, Amber Joy Poulton, Peter Baylor & The Roadhouse Romeos, Rough Cut, Chris Lee, Gunslinger,Rick Bartlett and Compere Gary Turner. There will be a merchandise tent on the grounds where fans can meet their favourite performers and buy CDs.

There will also be a young talent segment for aspiring performers between 13 and 20 years. For more information and entry form click here.

The festival also includes a Hot Rod Show and Ute Muster with hundreds of vehicles on show, free entry for drivers as well as trophies. Clubs wishing to park together can contact Lynnie or Bryan on 0408 800 119 or email with approximate numbers.

Entry to the festival is $25 Pensioners $20, Children 14 and under are free.

Gates open 8am Show 9am -6pm.
