The official trailer - Red Billabong

Red Billabong is the biggest Australian action film for 2016. It is due for Australia wide release in cinemas on Thursday, 25 August 2016.

The highly anticipated thriller stars Dan Ewing (Home and Away), Tim Pocock (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Sophia Don, Jessica Green (Lightning Point), Ben Chisholm, John Reynolds, Emily Joy, James Straiton, Felix Williamson (Underbelly:Razor, The Great Gatsby), Bruce Carter (Gods of Wheat Street) and Gregory Fryer (The Sapphires).

Red Billabong is the first Australian film to feature a CGI character in a leading role.

Writer/Director Luke Sparke said, "I can't recall a fully realised computer generated character have a lead role in an Australian film before. I don't think it has been attempted. Our VFX team will be working furiously all the way up to the cinema release."

Writer/Director, Sparke said he began writing the script seven years ago after he researched Australian myths and legends and how they relate back to Aboriginal times and how he could relate that to an interesting movie for today's audiences.

Red Billabong is set in the Australian outback where two brothers uncover old secrets and family lies when they inherit their grandfather's property. The brothers disagree over matters, but can both see something sinister is happening when they find they themselves stalked by a sinister supernatural something-or- someone. When their friends begin to go missing it is clear their lives will change forever, which raises the questions, is it just a story? A legend? A hoax ? Or is it possibly real?
