A treasure trove of pre-loved outdoor gear in the heart of Canberra.

If you love the great outdoors but hate the cost of the gear you need to enjoy the experience, Recycled Recreation Canberra might be just the shop you need. A relative newcomer to the Canberra retail scene, the Recycled Recreation business model is focused on sustainability and quality. The concept began life in Hobart as a side hustle to a climbing gym before evolving into a seasonal pop-up store. Demand grew and eventually, a standalone Recycled Recreation store was born giving Hobart's established outdoor stores some stiff competition.



Fast forward a few years and Recycled Recreation Canberra launched. The Canberra shop is located in Fyshwick and when you step inside, it's impossible not to start imagining your next adventure. Everything is beautifully displayed and you could easily set yourself up for anything from a short hike to an extended break in the wilderness (fancy prepping for the next series of Alone, anyone?)

A true treasure trove of all things outdoors, you'll find everything from tents to tripods, camp stoves to kayaks and almost everything else in between. The majority of items are preloved but with very minimal wear and where an item has been repaired, this will be noted on the tag. While price points hover in an area considerably more expensive than a run-of-the-mill op-shop, the difference here is the quality - you know what you buy will be fit for purpose.





Another bonus? Recycled Recreation is sustainability in action - rather than seeing decent gear sit in cupboards or sheds, it gets to go on new adventures and open up the great outdoors to new adventurers. With textiles and fashion waste accounting for an estimated 260 000 tonnes of landfill in Australia each year, the benefit of shopping here goes beyond your own hip pocket and helps to reduce waste and keep our natural places beautiful.

As well as selling, Recycled Recreation buys your clothing and gear so if you've recently upgraded or changed size (or even changed your mind on a hobby) the team will assess what you have and, if it meets the standards, it will be on the shelves and off to new adventures before you know it.

You'll find Recycled Recreation at 3/ 151 Newcastle St Fyshwick, Canberra, ACT. It's open Tuesday to Friday 10 am - 5 pm and Saturday and Sunday 10 am - 3 pm. Closed Mondays.
