A formal ceremony, with smoking ceremony and artwork tours
The National Capital Authority will be hosting a Reconciliation Day ceremony at Reconciliation Place in Parkes, in the middle of the Parliamentary Triangle. The ceremony will commence from the Central Mound of Reconciliation Place between the National Portrait Gallery and Questacon, between 8am - 9am. The event will include a Welcome to Country, smoking ceremony and Indigenous dance performance.
After the ceremony, take part in a free guided tour of the artworks of Reconciliation Place and learn about the journey towards recognition and respect for our Indigenous people past, present and future. Reconciliation Place is open all year around, to walk along and appreciate the range of sculptures and artworks on display.
