There are slim pickings when it comes to Persian restaurants in humble ol' Perth, Western Australia as they are few and far between, though with the finesse of the likes of , we are very much blessed with quality over quantity.

Opening their doors in October 2014, hit the ground running and quickly established itself as a must-see along Terrace Road, East Perth looking over the Swan River covering the full spectrum of services from breakfasts, lunch, dinners and private late night affairs.

As far as the breakfasts are concerned, they were notably all Western dishes and I couldn't go past the scrambled eggs, avocado and smoked salmon on toast. You can tell there has been some serious tender loving care expended over the scrambled eggs to turn them out as buttery, soft and perfectly textured as they are. Make sure you douse your dish in the mysterious third spice perched next to the salt and pepper (casually, as if these three spices appear on every tabletop and that salt and pepper are merely a substandard combination on their own, direly lacking the third amigo to the trio). Of course, it was sumac, "the MSG of Persian spices" and you may well as tip it out all over the table and rub your face in. Maybe I do this at home because it's my favourite spice, maybe I'm exaggerating. But I digress.

Accompanying breakfast was my typical casual-weekend coffee order of an affogato. The beverage components arrived well presented and more importantly, *SEPARATELY* which is such a crucial (but often overlooked) detail for maintaining the integrity of an affogato. All too often I've been served a prematurely-mixed together-mess consequent to an overzealous barista or waitperson in a rush or not wishing to carry more than one glass (a BIG no-no) resulting in a lukewarm vanilla-coffee-flavoured-soup with only floating remnants of unmelted white chunks slightly resembling thick foam and this is certainly NOT an acceptable drink. Thankfully, do not stand for this nonsense and they respectfully serve their elements separately. The coffee blend was reasonably strong and bond in flavour which was well-balanced by a suitable portion of quality vanilla ice cream to keep the ratio pleasant.

Also noteworthy is the Persian omelette for breakfast which is an incredible hangover cure! Don't be surprised if you order this to discover your eggs are red – this is simply thanks to a delicious homemade tomato sauce running through along with their special blend of herbs and spices (which you may have noticed is not pictured as I was admittedly in no state to be taking photos at the time of that particular visit).

It would seem that the more traditional dishes are offered at lunch and dinner - check out the extensive menu for yourself here .

The service is a little hit-and-miss and there are some strong opinions floating about both for and against it, but don't let this put you off from an otherwise delightful venue. On the whole (balanced from a number of attendances here), the staff are mostly friendly and happy to chat about the menu and culinary techniques utilised.

Be sure to check out Scoopon before you stop by as more often than not there is a stellar deal of a "Brekkie & Bubbly" boasting a champagne breakfast for two for only $19.00 – BARGAIN! Alternatively, they frequently advertise exclusive deals via their Facebook page which you can access here .

And just to rattle off a final few qualities in case the above was not convincing enough, is halal-certified, there are gluten free options, a full bar available, plus takeaway and home delivery options if for whatever reason you aren't up for the gorgeously serene location.
