Many of us have worked in an office at some stage and can understand the daily pressures that go along with it. Although what if you are the receptionist of an office? Surely your job has gotta be pretty cruisy right? Reception: The musical really puts the office environment into perspective in an extremely entertaining and humorous way.

Bethany, (performed by Bethany Simons) who is self-described as "just a receptionist" completely immerses herself into the role, taking you on a journey into the daily grind of reception work.

Written and performed by Bethany Simons and Peter de Jager, Directed by David Wicks and Assistant Directed and Choreographed by Joseph Simons, Reception: The musical has been pieced together perfectly to provide an entertaining show.

Joseph Simons commented on Bethany's performance, noting her ability to completely engage the audience and provide a relatable experience. "It was important for the audience to SEE the world through her eyes, not just hear about it, and so the most crucial tool became Bethany's extraordinary ability to transform her voice and body.

Bethany's performance paired with the musical talent of Peter de Jager really brings this Cabaret Comedy to life.



The show won Best Cabaret in the 2014 Melbourne Fringe Festival and for good reason.

You don't need to be a cabaret fan to enjoy this as it is quite light and funny. It wouldn't be fair to not mention the many puns that were brought into this show, that will seriously have you in fits of laughter.

The show will entertain a range of crowds, and that could be seen by the diversity of the audience, the show attracted all from children to elderly.

Haven't seen a cabaret before? Not sure if you'll enjoy it? When humour is thrown into the mix, I really don' think you can go wrong.
