Talented and award-winning artist Debbie Parker is presenting her latest solo art exhibition at Percolator Gallery this winter.
This stunning exhibition features paintings inspired by the artist's leisurely walks in Mount Coot-Tha National Park, including the rainforest garden.
Discover beautiful landscapes capturing movement and light on familiar Australian icons. Each of Debbie's compositions has been carefully planned to present a story about light and its effect on the subjects in the space.
From images of local fauna and flora to Debbie's favourite birds and tree forms and of course, the ever-present magpies, this collection of artworks see Debbie extend her colour palette and embrace different points of view.
"The dryness of the time of year is a key to the colour choice just as much as the time of day. One pathway can provide so many different views. Looking up, looking down, looking at ground level to the horizon and up through the canopy to the sky. All these different vantage points provide another way of seeing" said Debbie.
In addition, there will be a Stock Room Sale of some of Debbie's favourite paintings which have made it into finals or have won prizes in local and national events.
A great admirer of the Early Expressionists and Fauvists of the early 1900s, such as Franz Marc, Vincent Van Gogh and Alberto Giacometti and modern-day Australian artists like Margaret Woodward and Brett Whiteley, Debbie's artworks explore the possibilities of the quick gestural mark in acrylic and mixed media while maintaining a balance and harmony in composition and outcome.
This latest solo art exhibition will be held at the Percolator Gallery from the 10th to 15th July 2018. Viewing times are Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 6:00pm.
