Hubots,' built in our likeness, are robots originally designed to help humans with all types of daily functions. The objective, expected to free up our time and extend life, may have an adverse effect.
There are humans who have classed themselves as 'Äkta människor' or 'Real Humans,' who show animosity toward the living 'dolls', unwilling to accept the ambiguous line between humans and robots, while others succumb to their own feelings of kindness.
One who cares, Grandfather Lennart is forced to purchase alternative help when his old 'hubot' Odi, is worn out and rendered defective.
It appears there are 'hubots' who may be developing thoughts or emotions amongst this confliction and have broken 'free,' aided by Leo. The son of the machines' creator or saviour, either way, has a constant battle to keep them charged and safe.
Lifelike, the actors have played the role well to give the impression they are robots.
Many events and characters are pulled into the plot. It works; leaving you interested for more.
The series is rated M and filmed in Swedish with English subtitles, though should not deter avid SBS viewers, or any newcomers who would otherwise miss out on an artistic array of SBS programs.
