The city of Newcastle is buzzing with excitement This time The Real Film Festival 2013 celebration starts from the 2nd of August till 4th of August. Three days of fun filled festivities and activities initiated by Screen Hunter Central Coast. Originally created to develop the art of show casing real life stories through films, short film competition, workshop development and a collection of short independent and documentary films. Its aim is to raise awareness of international cinemas and the importance of independent films.



For the 2013 Real Film Festival, it will comprised of six thought provoking film premiers, 22 documentaries and short films, 12 industry development work shops, and three short film competition.

On this opening night, through Marilyn Monroe's journals; dubbed the "Blonde Bombshell'' you will get an amazing insight behind the beauty of this brave, multi-talented complex woman.

Screening of the collection of documentaries and short films presented by the locals, nationals and international film makers.

So get ready for the looming excitement! This year the Real Film Festival will be bigger and better than before; the memories of the stars from yesteryears will dazzle you and hopefully will ignite the creativity within you and participate in this once a year celebration.

While you are at Newcastle, why not spend the day at Honeysuckle Drive, the Hunter's premier waterfront playground. The place is littered with Restaurants, Bars and Café; enjoy the sumptuous food on offer or simply take a stroll around the Harbour.

Getting there
Road
Newcastle is a 2 hour drive north of Sydney and is easily accessible from F3, Pacific Highway, New England Highway. You can always visit this website for directions to Newcastle

Rail
If you are catching a train from Central Station, the trip will approximately take two hours and a half, depending on the time of the day. Return services to Newcastle run frequently. Please check this website or call 131500 for timetables and fares.

Coach/Bus
