Life is about the journey - some roads are not always what they seem but you sure learn a great deal from them!

Admittedly, camping is not for everyone. Not everyone is ready to brave the wild wild west of Australia. I, for one, was not really enthusiastic to live in a tent with no bathroom or kitchen close by. And then there is that question on hygiene? So why would I ever tempt to venture into this realm with a list of concerns that make Santa's list look like a shopping list?
It all started with the hunt for a stove. My original vision of camping consist of a canvas tents; building a fire from wood; sleeping in a sleeping bag on sand; battling spiders, snakes and all sorts; having to sterilize water (possible hunt for it); only to mention the top 5!
An adventure awaits - you just need to step through the doors!
I have never really ventured into an "outdoor" shop, and Ray's Outdoors Store, in Balcatta, was definitely a place to start. As soon as I stepped into the store I began to warm to the idea of camping. Things have really stepped up a notch since I was first exposed to camping, which was many years ago! I would class my experience of one of the Stone Ages. However 2013 brings upon a whole "new age" era of camping technology.
Apart from the array of cooking equipment and utensils I found that one could quite easily camp in style. Suddenly that hard floor turned into a camping cot with a very comfy inflatable mattress. And then there were the sleeping bags! Talk about being spoiled for choice.
All of sudden I could imagine combining my love for the outdoors with living in the outdoors. I thought to myself that maybe this is one adventure I just could handle. Thanks Ray's Outdoor in Balcatta for displaying a great realm of possibilities.
If you are like me and thinking: "NO WAY", do yourself a favor and just browse through a store like Ray's Outdoors in Balcatta, Perth. You may just warm to the idea of a "real" outdoor adventure!
