Ray's Cafe is a little grungy Brunsiwck cafe near Brunswick station and about a five minute walk from Brunswick campus. It is small, but very cozy once inside. The set up looks a bit like a bar but it actually is not.

Here their Middle eastern influence is obvious in their meals. I went in on a Friday just after 10am. The place was quiet as everyone had gone to work. During the weekends it does get lively.

[ADVERT]They have Habenero sauce (which is Mexican). I had the poached eggs on Turkish bread with red onion jam and baked beans with feta cheese. The poached eggs were done nicely, even better with that Habenero sauce as it gave it a spicy kick. I loved the bread.

I couldn't say the same for the baked beans as they were a tad overdone, but it still had that nice homemade feel about it.

I also had a tiny friand ($1) with my cold drip coffee with coconut water ($6). The coconut water did taste a little strange with the coffee but overall I really liked the flavour.

In short come here for the food and not the coffee. And don't mind the hip service.
