I recently read Ray Martin's autobiography, Ray: Stories of My Life - The Autobiography



His account of interviews and the people he has been able to meet made for compelling reading. Despite a violent family situation with an alcoholic father, he attributes a lot of his strength to his mother and sisters.

Throughout his long career in the media he has become a household name for many. His high profile activities include hosting the annual Carols by Candlelight. Less widely known perhaps is his involvement in charity work with the disadvantaged. He is extremely proud of his relationship with the Fred Hollows Foundation and acknowledges that Fred Hollows was one of the most remarkable characters he had the good fortune to meet. He also attributes his involvement with him to inspire him to become passionate about reconciliation and social justice to aboriginals.

Altogether a thought provoking, occasionally critical and sometimes humorous account of his time spent in the media. Simply Ray telling his story in his own words.
