The Raw Kitchen

I visited after hearing about its recent opening. Not being the greatest fan of vegetarian foods I was a bit hesitant but intrigued by their interpretation of more popular dishes such as Pad Thai and the incentive of 'healthy raw foods' which is becoming the new latest craze to jump on the band wagon with.
I had booked a table for 4 knowing it was going to be busy being recently refurbished and when we arrived we were put in a corner on a table and two benches that clearly were meant for 2. Luckily being four petite girls we just squeezed in, but for four adults that would not have been possible.
We quite enjoyed the experience of our senses being confused by eating what looked like pasta but was actually shredded zucchini however some dishes just had a bit too much going on, a rather extreme taste bud explosion, especially for the pad thai dish.
The best part of the evening was the extensive range of juices and smoothies available, however served with a metal pipe (straw) which was either a love or hate novelty idea for our group. Even though I probably wouldn't go back for the food again I would definitely return to pick up a drink from there as this seemed to be their strong point.
A major problem this restaurant has, which I have read too in other reviews, is the really poor service. The length of time we had to wait to have our orders taken and have plates cleared was unacceptable and for us to have to ask for cutlery on top of the bad service was the decider on our opinion.
Another restaurant checked off the list for Fremantle and a different kind of dining experience but not one I will return to.
However if you were on a date with a vegetarian this may be the ideal place to take them as at least their options on the menu would be bountiful for once!
