is heaven on Earth with glimpses of blue skies, dappled sunlight on moss covered trees, romantic canopies and a guaranteed escape from civilisation.

Located just 50 minutes drive North East of Toowoomba, as you drive up the entrance to the Blackbean day-use area, you'll be greeted by grassed picnic areas and a barbecue nestled amongst beautiful eucalypts and tallowood trees.

Aviarist will delight in the bird watching opportunities with varieties such as picabeens, black cockatoos, kookaburras, finches and pidgeons.

There are three walking circuits to choose from that range in distance and difficulty.

We chose the Palm Creek track. It was hard not to be mesmerised by the sheer beauty of the landscape as we stepped across the sand and stone walkways, meandering through fallen trees and draping vines until we reached the sandstone overhang. Here we picnicked to the tranquil sound of birds chirping and leaves gently blowing in the cool breeze.

There are a number of signs along the track to keep you on your path and if you look closely, you'll notice some of the trees have been signposted identifying their species.

Overall, was magical and I would recommend a visit to anyone who's up for the walk.
