I had a massage on my Friday afternoon after work at Raticha Massage and Spa. They are currently, as of January 25 2020, having a special with discounts on all of their services, which include facials, massage, cupping and reflexology.



New to the Coorparoo area, and located at 131 Kirkland Ave, off Old Cleveland Road, it's a small spa with a nice family vibe.

I had a full body massage, and the experience was interesting for two reasons. The masseuse, who was a tiny person to be fair, climbed onto the table to use all of her weight on my back. While I personally found it helped the process, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with back-related problems or bone density issues. Check first. Also, the treatment very much echoed a sports massage or Chinese massage, rather than Swedish or plain relaxation. It was a serious, healing business and my back and shoulders have felt a lot better in the days following, which is great.

The spa area itself was very clean and smelled lovely. There was water readily available. The appointment was on time and the staff were friendly and warm. There were also different levels of treatment available, including remedial for those with health insurance who would like to claim it back.



I would recommend Raticha during or after the sale period, as it was a relaxing time to spend on a bit of pampering, and also a bit different. Great for gifts too, with facials and manicures and foot treatments. A good addition to the Coorparoo area.
