Rathdowney is a small rural town in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland. Rathdowney is the gateway to the breathtaking peaks of Mt Barney National Park, in particular, Mount Maroon and Mount Barney. Mount Lindesay is unmistakable with its tiered cake shape. Rathdowney conserves the spirit of a true Aussie country town.
Rathdowney is the town where the Group Hiking South East Queensland stop in the morning before heading to hike Mount Maroon. The meeting point is just in front of the General Store.

Rathdowney Hotel has been a landmark in the township since the early 1900s. Locally, it is called the Rath Pub and it is open seven days a week. Meals are served every day and the food has good reviews.

Twenty-five minutes west of Rathdowney is
Maroon Dam. Maroon Dam is situated on Burnett Creek and supplies water for irrigation as part of the Logan River supply scheme.
Maroon Dam was completed in 1974 and allows irrigation along Burnett Creek and the Logan River for about 130 kilometres downstream.
Maroon Dam is popular with activities like fishing and water sports, Maroon Dam is stocked by the Maroon-Moogerah Fish Management Association.

Rathdowney Visitor Information Centre is located on the Mt Lindesay Hwy in Rathdowney. It is a great place to find maps, brochures, itineraries and useful information for travelling. The Information Centre's personnel are local with knowledge to advise what to see, what to do and where to eat.

Rathdowney Information Centre is open every day inclusive of Public Holiday except Christmas, Good Friday and Anzac Day.
Open 9.30am – 2.30pm: Monday to Friday
Open 9.30am – 2.30pm: Weekends
Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Anzac Day.

Rathlogan Olive Grove & Shed Cafe' is an amazing place for refreshments and gift ideas. It is located at 4 Upper Logan Rd, Rathdowney QLD 4287.
There is also a plantation of olive trees. The olives and other local products are sold at The Shed Cafe.
