Ranges at Olinda is a cafe/restaurant located high in the hills of the Dandenong Ranges. Serving Modern Australian cuisine, they're open daily for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, while dinner is available Tuesday through Saturday.
As you walk through the doors, you're welcomed by an all too enticing display of cake and gateau. Morning or afternoon tea rumblings are bound to be satisfied with one of the displayed sweet treats, or immerse yourself in the country vibe of Olinda and opt for Devonshire tea – two scones served with jam and double cream.
The interior seems well-suited to the locale – welcoming and natural with exposed wooden tables and chairs and earthy wooden floorboards.

Menu options for breakfast, lunch and dinner are many and varied (if you manage to make it past the cake stand, that is) and cater for gluten free and vegetarian diets. For breakfast (which is served until 12pm) you might like to try the Ranges big breakfast, complete with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown and veggies. For something a little sweeter there's buttermilk pancakes or a house made banana muffin. If you're looking for something light, you might like to tuck into some wholemeal fruit toast or house made Granola.
Light meals are served until 5pm and include soup of the day, bruschetta and baked pumpkin, olive and feta tart, amongst others. Main meals are served from 12pm. You'll find a range of dishes, like their vegetarian pizza, ground beef burger and battered fish. Also on offer are a number of daily specials, including risotto, pasta and maybe even a curry.
The kids are catered for too, with a choice of two types of pasta, chicken and chips or lightly battered fish. High chairs are also available.
Then, for dessert, we're back to that delectable display of cake and gateau.
Ranges at Olinda also offer function packages for birthday or Christmas parties, weddings, cocktail parties and corporate events; catering for up to 100 people cocktail-style or 20 people for a seated reception.
On your way out, be sure to take a stroll and browse in the craft and antique shops that Olinda is known for.
