Ramen is one of my favourite foods in the world, and if I could, I would eat it every day, I just love it that much. Firstly, I love ramen soup, and my favourite is the Tonkatsu Broth. Tonkotsu broth comes from the south of Japan and it is made from pork bone. Then there is the noodles which fill the bowl and are so filling. Lastly, there are the toppings, my favourite is definantly an egg, but I won't say to no slices of pork, spring onion or garlic oil. Together all these things come together to make a filling bowl of deliciousness!

Ramen Zundo
So of course, when I was planning a trip to Sydney, one of the first things I investigated was where to find a good bowl of ramen. Through this research I kept reading about a place in the World Square called Ramen Zundo, that served my favourite ramen. Naturally, I had to try it out for dinner while there.

The Menu
When we arrived, it was early on a Sunday evening, but it was still quiet busy. We quickly ordered at the register - Chicken Katsu Curry for my partner, the Tonkotsu Black Ramen for me and the homemade pork Gyoza to share - before grabbing a seat at one of the free tables. As I sat and waited, I noticed the variety of people eating at Ramen Zundo. There were young families, uni students and also couples like us.
However, my attention quickly turned to the food that started arriving at the table. First, the Japanese Curry arrived, and thankfully my partner allowed me to try a little of his meal and it tasted amazing. I'm not usually a fan of spice or curry, but I absolutely loved it and for a moment, I regretted not ordering this.

Japanese Curry
The regret did not last long as soon my Tonkotsu Black Ramen arrived and it smelt so good. I was keen to see what difference the roasted garlic oil made, and I'm happy to say it added another demension to the dish and worked perfectly with the pork broth. The slices of pork were also perfectly cooked, and the noodles were just the right thickness. There was nothing I could fault with my bowl of ramen, even the serving size was just right!

After finishing up dinner, I understood why this place was mentioned so many times - the food here is simple but delicious and the service and price is great. Ramen Zundo certainly ticks all the boxes, that's for sure!
