Dining at Rambla is a treat for the palate and the eye
My how time flies. I can't believe it's been just over a year since Rambla On Swan opened on the stunning banks of the Swan River in South Perth. In that short time, the restaurant has made it's mark and become the place to go for a venue that combines delicious food, outstanding views and romantic ambience.
There are only a handful or two, of restaurants in Perth that overlook the stunning Swan River but Rambla On Swan has arguably the best location of them all. On the South Perth Esplanade, with a large outdoor deck, the restaurant takes advantage of the spectacular views over the glistening water of the river to the Perth city skyline.
Some restaurants in great locations can be disappointing when it comes to the food, but the cuisine at Rambla On Swan is just as wonderful as the view. Excellence in food and service was a priority when the restaurant opened so exceptional staff were sought from around the country and overseas to find an executive chef, wine bar manager and venue manager who would ensure the dining experience at Rambla would be outstanding.
Executive chef Richard Johnson trained at the 5-star restaurant Claridges in London before becoming an executive chef at Justin Hemmes' ivy & Establishment in Sydney. The former Merivale chef now heads up the kitchen at Rambla, creating delicious food that is a treat for the palate and the eye.
Sesame seeded wagyu rump tataki with asian mushroom salad and roasted Carnarvon prawns
Featuring modern Australian cuisine, using locally sourced produce, the summer menu has fresh and delicious dishes but on the night we went we enjoyed various specials. We had Sesame seeded wagyu rump tataki with asian mushroom salad and roasted Carnarvon prawns for entree and a perfectly cooked melt-in-your-mouth Harvey beef fillet on a creamy potato bake with chargrilled prawn.

In their first year of opening, the restaurant won two prestigious awards: the 2016 Award For Excellence and 2016 Gold Plate Award"Best New Restaurant" Category.
All the reports I have had, from friends who have been to Rambla On Swan, have been fantastic and many have returned a number of times, saying it has become their favourite restaurant for any celebration.
Open for lunch and dinner, the views are spectacular day or night. The city looms by day across the sparkling river and as the sun sets the windows, they shine orange and pink. When darkness falls, the lights of the city come on transforming the skyline into a shining picture postcard.
