A Massage, a spa and a cuppa
Feeling a bit stressed as the school holidays drive you crazy? Or simply looking for a way to treat yourself or to celebrate a special occasion? Then I definitely recommend a trip to Rainesforest Massage and Day Spa in Indooroopilly.

This wonderful urban hideaway is different to your usual massage and day spa. First, the setting. This wonderful spa, while nestled in suburbia, is surrounded by its very own gum tree forest. Secondly, a complementary spa is a feature of many treatments and thirdly, all the staff are SO good.

A friend recommended Rainesforest to me around twelve years ago. As I wandered down the wooden pathway to the secluded deck surrounded by lush trees I soon forgot that Indooroopilly Shoppingtown was only minutes away. At that time there was a lone therapist, Heather Raines, the owner who has given her name to the spa. Heather's massages were and still are little slices of heavenly relaxation.

Since then, Rainesforest has had well deserved success and offers 11 treatment rooms, seven different spa areas, over 40 staff members and seven day a week service. Sure this hive of activity has dimmed the secluded rainforest feel a little but not enough to put me off or to warrant going anywhere else.

Rainesforest now offers an extensive range of relaxing options for individuals, couples and groups with pre wedding parties being popular. There are speciality pregnancy and oncology massages as well as Bowen Therapy and Acupressure options. It always has specials and one to watch for is the deal of the day. If you have a mid week day off, check to see what's on offer as there is usually something good. If long hours are what's stressing you out, try an appointment in a weekend or an evening. You can also buy a gift voucher for a friend.

Over the past twelve years I have tried many different services from massages of various lengths, facials and hot stone massages. For a special treat my partner and I will often book 90 minute massages in the couples room and then share a spa while nibbling on complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. The staff always check if the massage pressure, oil, heating etc suit you and happily adjust to your preference. I have never been disappointed except to find out that my one hour massage went by so quickly.

The prices are very reasonable for what is provided, For example a three to four hour visit with a massage, spa facial, spa and sauna time and extra relaxing time with a cuppa is just $199 while their special for today was a three hour experience for $99.

I defy anyone to remain stressed after a visit to Rainesforest. If I'm pushing this hard its because I'm such a huge fan. Have a look at their website for more information or to make a booking.
